No more than 15k I'd say.

Good because I've been offered one for under £15k from a VW dealer

Would be tempted to buy one and stick a GTI front end on it. Would have the beauty of the GTI and the (God came in my ear) sound of the VR6.
sorry but my vaux looks far better than the mk5 gti, thats why i bought it  faster too

Heres an idea to beat the credit crunch..  it will never happen though will it.  perhaps it can't, I was a total slap head at economics.

My car is currently valued for trade in at say, £10k......I want an 06/07 R32, currently valued (if it were being traded-in at about £13k).....so..in my wee idealised world..I would just pay £3k to the dealer in cash to change over, the stealer then markets my car and gets say £13k, thereby stealer makes £5k...(£3k in cash from me, and £2k from the person who buys my car)..still with me? ...sound good?

The Stealer shifts his stock r32 (which he has had for 5 months), still makes good money and I get the car I want...its a win-win situation non?

Nah, in the real world....here's what happens instead.

The feckin stealer insists he wants £17k for his r32, and will give me £9k for my car!  Later, they will then sell my car on for £13k (if they are lucky I will grant you)...thereby potentially making a total of about £9k (if he pays £12k for the R32 in the first place, and makes £5k on that part, together with £4k on mine?).  The result I walk away with my money and he keeps a pile of rusting inventory on the car lot.

The greedy b@astards will go hungry unless they change their paradigm......

Ok I have just opened myself up to hoots of derision I know.....be gentle with me.

Let the fun begin........Red Gti, full colour coding, DSG, Xenons, Winter pack, Lux pack, Highline, Sat Nav, Sunroof, Leather, Milltek, ABT rear valance, Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics....pescaras :-)

Go to the dealer.. tell him you have 4k cash plus your car. Tell him you have to have a R32 with the spec you want and see what he can do for you. Trust me he will be going away and doing some digging to find the car you want. Sales are crap at the moment!

Job done!

So I called into one of the other local dealers today on the off-chance they might have some R32 deals and as I walked into the showroom there it was..... a shiny new (unreg'd) 3 door R32, in Deep Blue Pearl.  The car has the DSG box, Anthracite Leather, Rear Tinted Glass, Rear Parking Sensors, and Armrest with iPod Prep.

And the price?  £21,495 OTR including 12 months RFL.

According to the latest price list it's a £29,080 OTR car (including all those options).

I'm soooooooooo tempted, I'm pulling my hair out trying to make a decision.  I never really considered buying an R32 as they always seemed so pricey, but at these prices should I take the plunge?

Yours,
Confused!    :undecided:
