Right in front of the engine bay dead centre ,Half way down the block.

Open the bonnet and look behind the radiator.

 Cant miss it

I dont know if you know this bob, But you need to apply some oil to the top of the gasket on the new oil filter before fitting, (To make a good seal)

When refitting just do it up hand tight.

Just a heads up, pretty much all the parts you need are a bit cheaper at vagparts.co.uk.  Obviously after delivery it's more, but if you're ordering something from there anyway, you can save a few quid

DONT put a screwdriver through the filter or you will have to go live on a ranch with all the other cowboys 
buy one of these there great




another top tip buy cheap oil from tesco fill the car up start it then drain it back out makes the new oil stay cleaner as flushes rubbish out. should also either remove coil lead and crank engine to fill filter with oil before starting car, or fill filter up before fitting, bit awkward on the golf as sits horzontally

Ive got a filter tool aswell, I find i can undo mine by hand tho. 

I let all the rubbish drip out of mine before putting the sump back in. Takes a while but worth it IMO.

Yeah i just make sure i dont need the car/make alternative arrangements.

Actually its 2.1 bar all round for the 205/55/16 according to my fuel filler cap.

Normal load, mine is 2.1 F; 1.9R

You sure you're not reading 2.1R for a full load??

My fuel cap does not lie!   

It says the same all round I think 1.9 bar or something.  It doesn't say more PSI in the fronts though.  I have 205/55/16s.

What should it be?
