Need some parts - where from?
« on: 23 April 2007, 10:20 »
Hi
Need some parts, wondering where is the best place or even if a member has these and wants to get rid.

Front UnderTray
Passenger Side Doors (5 Door) Both Doors
Front Fog Lights and Indicators (Did the Anni have Smoked lights or?)
Shortshifter

Any help appreciated

Undertray - try Eurocarparts or GSF. If not it will be main stealers or scrappy!

Doors - scrappy!

Fogs indicators - many people do them just do a Google search.

Shortshifter - why? Also worth looking at engine mounts.

Shortshifter due to the car feeling really strange as the .:R has a shortshifter. It does make shifting feel a lot better.

That how Mk3's feel I'm afraid.
There are some around, try Big Boys Toys or similar web based companies.
As I said it may not just be a case of a shortshifter you may need to look at the engine/gearbox mounts to get a better gear change. But that would pass greater noise/vibration through.

yeah, i am guessing thats how they are, as when i first drove the thing, it felt really really strange, though my mate who i bought it off said it was fine, he drove it and had no issues, just think i got to get use to the longer shift etc.

i am going to clean it up today and take some proper engine bay and exterior pics.

guessing it would be virtually impossible to get satin silver doors resprayed to match?

Dead easy mate! Any decent car sprayer can match any colour. I have the colour match of my 405 Mi16 logged with one guy.

What Machine Mart? Or was it Foxes by any chance!
Yes swindon is still growing!

Yea all colour fades so if you get a spray can or touch up paint from say Halfords it will be back to original hue, so will be darker.
