the work might well have cost me a whole lot more than that so how much its cost to fix is irrelevant.

And if he had bought it and sold it for spares ala hardcore with the mk3 he got no one whould have looked twice. Go for it dizzy and if u sell it then good on ya!

thats the best mk3 ive seen..ever! its just clean and subtle..

I'd probably have had it for 500 if i had the money, as thats a reasonable price for a gti with MOT, not really sure what everyones making such a big deal out of? Maybe you could go out and buy a 250 quid car and get it running nicely on the cheap, but some people dont have time for that and would rather spend a bit more with the work already done.

I got a convient price. I'm selling it to the guy that is doing my Engine management and turbo work on the 20vt mk2. so I can drive the 8v to him and drive the 20vt home. saves me arranging lifts etc to take me there or take my 2nd car home :)

I got pretty much what I wanted yeah.

Good stuff, i've been tempted to find the odd 8v or 16v that has issues and fix them up as I expect a few get scrapped when they don't need to be.
