How about looking for one from a US model, they look shorter. Alternatively, lose the plinth and go for a vinyl plate that’ll sit much better on the bumper.
Had me thinking, Id like to get shorter number plates to give it the minimalisic look and seeing as short plates are fully road legal as long as you have 40mm between the first letter and final letter and the outa edge of the plate, then you are good.

The requirements are:characters must be 79mm tallcharacters (except the number 1 or letter 1) must be 50mm wide the character stroke (the thickness of the black print) must be 14mm the space between characters must be 11mm the space between the age identifier and the random letters must be 33mm the margins at the top, bottom and side of the plate must be 11mm vertical space between the age identifier and the random letters must be 19mm There are a few other things it needs to have to, namely the details of the place that made the plate, and the BS AU mark.
If you’re wanting short plates, I got mine from justnumberplates.co.uk, so I can vouch they make them as small as possible while still being legal. If you’re in the northeast you can pop in and get them made, if not you can post the required documents to them to get them made.
