It would look great in red. Unfortunately illegal to have red light at the front of a vehicle though in most countries.

Thanks for the fitting walk through guy1, it doesn’t sound too daunting.

I just fitted these cill strips to my CS, they’re OEM from the current Polo GTI. Very happy with them! Thanks very much to Exonian for putting me in contact with his buddy who sold these to me for a very reasonable price

haha yeah maybe. I had one of those in my MK7. The one thing that put me off is that the eBay one is made for a manual car, i.e. it's narrower than the DSG footrest. At least that was the case then.

The narrower one did bug me at for a couple of days and I considered switching back, but got used to it quite quickly

A bit indulgent but I changed the S005 tyres for some Continental SC7s. The S005s will be kept in the garage until I sell the car. I would rather take this approach than wait 2 years for the Bridgestones to wear out!

Only driven 5 miles but the steering feel and subjective feel of the car round the bends has improved and that’s what I was after. Feels more dynamic and precise - looking forward to the first proper drive.
