Here’s where I got mine from. Does look like they’ve gone up a few quid though. Still, not too bad at just over a tenner.

Good afternoon

I too would like to have a link to the correct item for a battery cover. Please!  rather than an unhelpful reply of what was posted earlier.

I have been onto Aliexpress and located this item

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32865910702.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.31ad44f84JgOq2&algo_pvid=cd2a1d98-bed3-41a6-92cc-8d535782b64a&algo_expid=cd2a1d98-bed3-41a6-92cc-8d535782b64a-3&btsid=0ab6f83a15891099858215110e641d&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_

but am unsure if it will fit on my Mk 7.5 GTI performance

Regards
Fred
Yep ✅ That will fit. All the cars mentioned have the same battery fitted. It will just nestle on top of the sides of the existing battery liner. There are no clips to hold it in place but it won’t move 👍

can you imagine people from England trying to get into Wales and Scotland and being fined by the police? It'll happen, staying at home for non essential journeys must be the safest way still.

Very true. But no different to each state having their own rules in the US and Australia. Germany too. I intend to take my car for a 10 mile drive to keep things in good order as it hasn’t been used for five weeks. I live in the arse end of nowhere, so unless I crash or break down it should be minimal/acceptable risk. I suspect there will be a difference of opinion on this topic, however.

Well, unless I misunderstood Boris just now - we’re able to go driving for any reason from Wednesday 👍

From ITV.com report on the PM’s earlier TV broadcast;

Mr Johnson also announced that from Wednesday people can leave the house more than once per day to exercise.

“You can sit in the sun in your local park, you can drive to other destinations, you can even play sports but only with members of your own household,” the PM said.

I interpreted that driving to other destinations was in relation to exercising. IMO it wasn’t entirely clear, so the PM might have meant it’s Ok just to go for a drive. I’ll still only be using my car to go to the supermarket every 7-14 days; seems that’s sufficient use to keep it ticking over at the moment.

It’s a confusing, muddled message to me. Sitting in the sun in your local park isn’t exercise.
It will be great to get the car out and go for a spin without having to justify it but some places like seaside and national parks are going to be so busy, it can’t be safe.
I’m English but prefer the Nicola Sturgeon message ‘Continue to stay safe at home’
