will be interesting what Stage 2 gains are for the £2.5K+ of investment to get you there

Where did you get 2.5k from?

the mk7 system is over 2k list with titanium tip option, £500+ for code/box in Stage 2 form and £300-£400 for a CAI

i'm a bit been there done that on the Stage 2 front and realised i'll just buy a more powerful car in the first place

the new TSI seems to be pulling about 10bhp more than previous generation, hopefully they have beefed the clutches up in the MK7

Price is £1,843.74 on Awesome's website, but why anyone would another £170 for something that looks mucky stainless is beyond me. Either way Stage 2 power is possible on the cheap, plus there is no CAI yet, I hear the OEM box is that good there isnt much point replacing it, so says someone at ITG, so a panel filter will cost you £40. Job done.

To my eyes I'd say down pipe only plus stage 2 box which would be just over a grand.
Yes you won't have shiny new tailpipes but I'm certain you could buy trims if that was a big concern.

So, that would bring a GTI PP thus equipped quite close to the price of an R - so it depends on the buyers requirements really.
The stage 2 GTI should be a pretty raw and very quick point to point car 'old skool' GTI style, and the R is an R (accomplished, polished and a step above all else in the range). Depends what the buyer wants really so it's nice to have the choice.
Once the stage 2 software and hardware gets added to the Leon Cupra you've got a real party animal assuming a lot of the sniffy members on here can get over the badge.

And eventually the stage 2 stuff will be available for the R too which would be a real weapon!!!

Plans are afoot for Stage 2 for the S3 and Golf R, which I'm pretty excited about :)

Shame it didn't get to the magic 320, maybe it will with the bcs I hope or a panel filter too, but great figures anyway

Woo!

Good to see that there's still no big torque spikes so the clutch shouldn't get too much grief

I hear the OEM box is that good there isnt much point replacing it, so says someone at ITG, so a panel filter will cost you £40. Job done.

is that why ITG have developed a kit with a filter size that is good for 500bhp, useful when you know their Technical Manager, in reality an ITG panel filter is the only one I have ever seen any gains

312bhp is a nice figure on Stage 2 and it snapping at the heels of older K04 cars and i think Nige will sift a few downpipes which are competitively priced

You got a link for this as I would like a cai if just for the added noise? This the itg in the metal case or the open cone?

And yes it's still a bit below the old mapped cupras but with the weight loss and lsd it should be faster even being down on power
