Bought a set of 18inch Pretorias from my local VW and fitted Continental All Season Contact 2's

Changed front discs and pads, and boy did they need it!

You have done very well there. My dealer recently told me that although they still existed in the catalogue the chance of ordering and getting a set in any predictable or reasonable timescale was exactly zero.
I guess your dealer had these in stock.
They are very nice but eye wateringly expensive. And very rare too.

Got me thinking….. can anyone suggest how I could track down 18” Prets IN STOCK at any dealer in the U.K.?
You would think in this day and age that would be possible but I suspect it’s impossible.
Also, I’m surprised any dealer just has expensive alloy wheels silently sitting in their stock room waiting for a buyer to come along some day. But maybe that exists?
How would anyone find they were there?

The old fashioned way, phone them! Plenty of dealers buy alloys while they're on offer from VW and keep them for upgrades for cars on the forecourt.

I guess it depends how long you are prepared to wait for a back-order to come from Germany.

I placed my order in Nov'23 knowing they were a potential 3+ month wait - in the end got a call a lot sooner, the first was an update to say they now didn't come with tyres fitted from factory (which I was ok with) - not long after they called to say they had arrived (along with my TCR spoiler) in the end it was about 1 1/2 month wait.

I'm now waiting for interior trim parts to come (centre console) which are on back-order - maybe a New Year surprise!

Love the 18" Pretoria's. I have a set of Sterling Silver ones on my GTI and they look great. Have seen a fair few people looking at them!
