Vibration question
« on: 13 March 2012, 19:06 »
I've got a strange vibration which i can feel through all the pedals when the car is at stand still and fully up to temperature, If i rev the engine it goes away for a short amount of time. It sounds like a helicopter taking off. I took it into the vw garage and they changed the 3 wheel pulley but it hasn't improved things. Anyone any ideas?
Also, how the hell do you turn the traffic info off on the standard vw radio. Its a 150.

Sounds very much like it could be the dual mass flywheel...

Mucho...saying that you can get a replacement OEM/or OE quality kit for £250ish, then like £200 maybe for fitting, or you could DIY? There is a semi good guide knocking about somewhere...

Theres definitely something up down there, although quick its almost impossible to get it to wheel spin (not that i try) but i remember my 130 used to wheelspin like a  bugger. So if i were to take it to an independent what do you guys think id be looking at to do the DMF? i have a receipt for a the clutch but they didnt have the dmf done.

I hate to say it mate, BUT that is a pretty rookie, they should have recommended that you replace the DMF at the same time. As now if it is the DMF I think you have to replace the whole lot...I maybe wrong

Not completely neccesary to change the lot, just some people would suggest..

If the clutch is fairly new then there shouldn't be any need to change that, just get a flywheel all be it expensive.

Atleast when done you can forget about it for a few years until it goes again..
