I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

So the bike that started this thread is now up for sale!

More pics here

This is a good spec DH bike. That I've only ridden once since building and has been stored ina shed so hasn't seen any rain/wet weather. Everything works well on it. The wheels are custom build at the start of the year and are mint on condition. All other parts only have light cosmetic marks.

I'm looking for £800 for it which is pritty good for a DH bike these days. But I will listen to offers. Also willing to post it at extra charge ( not a crazy charge tho )

I never use it so gunna use the money for a new car. I might get a cheap xc bike also. Just seems like a lot of money sat in the shed not getting used.

I think you should buy a DH bike  you'll love it!!

Heres the Spec:

I have 75% given up mountain biking after breaking my back about a year ago whilst out in the Purbecks. Now into road biking and have a carbon fibre Specialized Roubaix. Just love it.

What do you guys carry encase your chain ever snaps. I was just out for my 5mile ride and halfway up a hill my chain snapped, never in my 22years of life so far has this ever happened. So I had to walk home.

What do you guys use/do as a quick fix when on the road?

What causes chains to snap (mine is fairly new, has been well maintained in cleaning and oiling)? BTW I didn't shift under load and chain has not yet been disassembled via the pin/rivet.

What do you guys do when you get home (replace the whole chain? if so how do I know its size)?
