How to test my PCV Valve?
« on: 03 July 2010, 11:40 »
Hi,

How can I test my PCV to check it is working correctly? I have removed and is quite clogged with oil?

Simple thing is to do is just to change it, I just did mine cost be about £20 for the part from Vw and also you can feel the difference when you first start up early in the morning, you don't get that sluggish feeling and also I have noticed the extra 2 mpg extra on average journeys, not alot but every little helps..... Lol

Id just go with the latest revision which is supposed to be fine. Bought one for £29 recently with a little discount from the dealers

In short, no.  Looks way too small from memory.

If it isn't part number W06F 129 101 L then that's not the PCV, as I would remembed it.

Plus that ^^^ part I bought should have cost c£25 plus VAT

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?

Sorry mate, I'm inept with technical stuff, a garage did mine for me with several other little niggy jobs I needed done.  :embarassed:

From this thread on VAG drivers, the bit I had replaced seems to be the round part in your pic with the blue line cutting through the middle? http://vagdrivers.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=40537

I'm at work though, so I can't really look any further.
