There was always two types of water pipe the one you have is expensive to replace due to the double bend on the water pump and block.
My mate had the same issues and in the end it was cheaper to change out the water pump with a different outlet than source that ruber pipe.
It might be no much help to you but giving you some options to think about as most pipes are perished due to heat and sourcing another water pump with the different outlet might be eaiser?
someone on here should confirm what I've said, as its been awhile since I've mucked about with the water pipes on a MK2 16V.
Another not so great solution is to build your own pipe route using copper pipes that fit into the diameter of the holes so you can make the connections your self without relying on one pipe to make that double back to the pump.
Just make sure you use strong jubelee clips even if you double them up for secureness!

Final option which is not cheap is to go Samco or another after market kit make sure you only buy the water pipes and not air intake ones becuase they aren't cheap either.
